The B-flat tenor saxophone is one of the favorites of the saxophone family. It is used with the alto saxophone in jazz, symphonic, and dance bands. The tenor saxophone has a beautiful, rich sound. Because it is larger than the alto saxophone, it takes a bit more air to make the lower notes sound, so may be a little harder for beginning saxophone players.
