Can anyone offer me a great music store, or sell to me a quality saxophone case?
I need above average saxophone case that fits a Jean Baptiste alto sax for under 150.00. Please try and help me. My son's last case only lasted him 9 months, and left the house 20 times. It was a jean baptiste case from Sam Ash. Bad case. The zipper threading pulled out and began to tear. Time is of essence, please, respond soon. Thanks so much.

Question:

How do you remove permanent marker from a saxophone case?
The outside of the case was black leather with several discolored spots and tears, and the bad spots were colored in with black permanent marker. It looked good wet, but once it dried the color did not match the black leather case. Should I try to remove the marker, or try something else? *It's probably vinyl instead of leather

Answer:

You can try to remove the marker with some rubbing alcohol or hairspray (it contains alcohol). But as far as fixing the case, I suggest finding a vinyl repair kit (most likely your case is vinyl not true leather). You can repair the tears and holes with that.

Where can I buy a cheap alto saxophone case available to Australia other than ebay?
I am after a hard case preferably suitcase style or would consider a backpack but not soft/material, available to Brisbane Australia

You can try Yahoo they have great resources,music forums, music instrument search engines etc to help with all this type of thing.

Question:

Is there a way to get the musty smell out of a saxophone case that has been in storage for several years?

Answer:

Sprinkle some baking soda in it and set it outside in the sun. You may have to do this for several days. Good Luck! :)
