Questions and Answers

Selmer Saxophone?
I've been playing sax for 5 years...and I need a new one. I want a Selmer..but theres different kinds like the La Vie and such..Wich of the Selmers is the better one?
Answer:
I’m a pro player and I play a Mark VI (Paris) tenor and a Buffet alto. I really like both horns a lot. I haven’t heard great things about the newer Selmers (unfortunately) but I haven’t tried a new one lately either. I’d really advise trying lots of horns out before you commit to buying one. Be very wary of off-brands, and talk to a pro instrument repairman as well. Some horns play pretty well but are nightmares to fix and get parts for. Best bet: Stick with name brands. If you live near LA, try to get into the NAMM show (bring your mouthpiece and a good reed) and try out every horn in the show. (That’s how I found my alto.) Bring your checkbook!
selmer saxophone?
I/m thinking about buying either a Austin Bazaar or a selmer saxophone. Can you please list the differences between them . The more you put the higher chance of getting POINTS!!!!!!!!!!!
Answer:
The difference between a Austin Bazaar sax and a Selmer sax is that the Austin Bazaar saxes is mostly for beginner players while the Selmer is the highest quality manufacturer in musical instruments. I Recommend the Selmer Sax because it has the highest quality.
How much should I sell my selmer alto saxophone for?
I own a selmer as500 alto saxophone, its four years old, and in great condition except for a few superficial scratches. I spent $1,600 for it, and I was offered from a music store around $200 for it. Would it be worth selling it to them? Or should i go on ebay or a pawn shop and sell it?
Answer:
To get the most out of it you need to sell it to someone who doesn't have to re-sell it and make a profit. Buy-sell-trade stores, music stores, or a pawn shop can only give you a percentage of the used value. If you don't need money right away, try Craig's List or Ebay. Good luck.
What's a good price for a used Selmer Saxophone?
I want to sell my beginner's Selmer Alto Saxophone (it's 10 years old) and I'm not sure what a fair price would be. It's in perfect condition, just needs a new ligature. Anyone have any ideas?
Answer:
Look on ebay . This will give you a good idea as to what others are willing to pay. Selmer is a good sax and if it is well taken care, you will get good offers. http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=selmer+sax+80&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_sop=12 here is a link to give you an idea :)
